Edington Arts will be hosting several events in the Autumn.
The first – on Saturday 24 September – is a very welcome return of the Marici Saxophone Quartet. They first came in 2016, when the Priory Church resounded with the glorious sound that only a saxophone can make. The programme will be based around their recently recorded album, Origin.
Then, on 22 October, they are finally able to hold the Britten and Elgar Choral Workshop. Simon Carrington – one of the best known international choral directors and a founder member of The Kings Singers – will be coming to lead the day, aided by four stunning soloists and organist Huw Williams from Bath. They suggest that if you’ve not sung these works before, now is the time to come and learn them under such expert guidance.
To round the year off, the choir of Merton College Oxford will be coming on 10 December to give the Advent Concert. Ben Nicholas knows the church well, having been Festival Director for a while. He has brought his College Choir before and it was a wonderful start to the Christmas Season.
