As we approach the Armistice Centenary, we thought you might be interested in these two links.
The first is a press release published on 12 November 2017 on www.gov.uk about the plan for all the Nation’s bells to ring out together to mark the Centenary. Reading down it, however, there is a fascinating case study on the Edington Tower and the ringers who gave their lives during the war. You may already know that it was one of two towers that lost all its ringers during the 14-18 war, which must have been devastating for their communities.
The second has a video clip, featuring our bellringers, which was on the BBC last year.
Our current ringers will be joining those nationwide in marking the anniversary on Sunday 11 November 2018.
