Church Fete, 7 June 2025

When the weather forecast predicted heavy rains and possible thunderstorms, the decision was taken to hold the fete in the church itself.   What a great idea!

With the pews moved to make space for tables and games, there was a great buzz about the place and lots of people enjoying themselves.   Paul Martin of Henry Aldridge and Sons (and Flog It! fame) had come to value our treasures.   There were hoop-la games, the stocks, cake and garden stalls, beeps from the steady hand game, face painting, balloons – all sorts!   The tea stall did a roaring trade and the Bratton Silver Band provided a marvellous musical background – they even provided the accompaniment to pass the parcel!    All while it poured with (much-needed) rain outside.

Many plaudits should go to the team who arranged it, as it was no doubt a lot of work, but hopefully it raised a good sum for our local charities.
