As the 2013 Edington Music Festival drew to a close, the Festival Director announced that the Organ Project had reached its target.

On Saturday evening, 24 August, Nicholas Buckman (Treasurer) and Susie Hancock (Secretary), as representatives for The Friends, attended a small reception hosted by the Organ Project. We met the Chairman of Harrison and Harrison, Mark Venning who lives very locally, and were brought up to date with progress. As Chairman of the Edington Music Festival Association, the Reverend Peter McGeary then gave a short, eloquent speech on behalf of the Project thanking all those who had made or promised donations and had given their support to the project. They were particularly pleased that - thanks to the Friends' decision to gift the balance of funds originally set aside for inflation - the target had become even closer.

As it turned out this was to make a great difference to the appeal, leaving only another £7,000 to go. When we arrived for Solemn Eucharist on Sunday, we were told the total left was about £4,000. And then, at lunch, the Festival Director Ben Nicholas announced with great delight that they had reached their goal! He thanked everyone who had made donations for their enormous generosity and looked forward with excitement to the new organ and its Dedication next year! What a way to end the Festival!
