Michael Jones
  Friends were both shocked and saddened at the news that Michael Jones died in RUH Bath on Friday 13 April, after suffering a stroke just before Easter. His funeral was held in the Priory church on 10 May.

  Are you sitting comfortably?
On Thursday 27 July, a merry band of workers assembled to take delivery of new folding chairs to provide additional seating at busy services. We think you'll find them more comfortable than the old wooden chairs!

  New Rector for the Benefice
We are delighted to welcome the Reverend Andrew Sinclair as Rector and, by tradition, Chairman of the Friends. He was installed on 5th September at a service taken by the Bishop of Ramsbury.
  60th Anniversary Weekend
After much research and planning, Friends joined us for a weekend of events to commemorate the founding of the Society in July 1956 and celebrate our 60th Anniversary.
  New President of the Friends
After a discussion at the Council meeting in May, we invited the Bishop of Ramsbury, who is well known in the parish, to become the President of the Friends. We were thrilled when he accepted the invitation.
  Cheney monument restoration
The Cheney monument is looking splendid, following a two year conservation programme. Click here to see some photographs of the work and the people who carried it out.
  Festival peal
The Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers rang a quarter peal on 29 August to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Edington Music Festival.

  Dedication Sunday
After the service on 12th July, parishioners and church helpers enjoyed a Bring and Share lunch, to thank them for their efforts. The Rector’s sermon reviewed the church's history and brought it up-to-date. Read more …

About seventy singers from far and wide gathered at the Priory Church on Saturday 20th June when Bob Chilcott came to give a workshop on his recently-composed St John Passion. Read more ...

  Swindon Surprise

Tallinn 2014
Earlier this year, the Henry Jones Organ from Edington Priory Church was dismantled and transported to Estonia by three representatives from the Gustav Adolf School, where the organ has been rebuilt. Read more ...

The Henry Jones organ has resounded through the Priory Church for over 100 years. It has served Edington well and become as familiar as the stones, pews and arches. But now, change is afoot. Read more ...
Joy Cooke
  Friends were saddened to hear that Joy Cooke, who had been struggling with poor health for a while, died peacefully at Yeovil Hospital on 12 November 2013. She had been a true friend both to the Festival and to the Priory Church, and she will be much missed.
  Organ appeal fully subscribed
As the 2013 Edington Music Festival drew to a close, the Festival Director announced that the Organ Project had reached its target.
